3 on 3 OT

Dustin Byfuglien doesn't like 3-on-3 overtime. There is a part of me that agrees with him.

But all in all, it is more fun to watch than shootouts.

It's funny to watch how it's played though. Players are able to maintain control of the puck more reliably, so the game almost turns into half-court basketball. The big difference being that in ice hockey, it is a lot of work to defend and the offense, since they can maintain the puck more easily, can more easily change players on the fly.

So once a team does get control of the puck, they will often churn in the offensive zone just hoping to wear down the other team. This tactic can be fun to watch, but it isn't exciting hockey.
