Reviews: October 15th

Nashville 3 New York Islanders 4 NOPE
Tavares on that assist for the first NYI goal. Beauty in so many ways. Hard work in the zone, stays with the puck, moves without the puck, great vision on the pass. Tavares wow. New York played well, but still outplayed by Nashville. Nashville couldn't finish on many chances.

 Ottawa 0 Pittsburgh 2 NOPE
Malkin sighting! He scores with a nice wrister. Sprong's goal was nice as well. This Pens team will be difficult playing like that. Still not finishing on enough of their chances. Crosby wasn't invisible but produced nothing. Ottawa was out-worked.

Chicago 1 Washington 4 NOPE
Ovechkin's goal. I can't believe Kuznetsov passed that back to him. Beautiful play. (more later)

New York Rangers 0 Montreal 3 NOPE
One of those games. Rangers truly got outplayed here. Montreal controlled the center of the ice -  right in front of Carey Price. Very difficult to watch. Reminds me of those games against the old New Jersey Devils with Niedermayer and Stevens - work, work, work, and one no-good shot then New Jersey moves the puck out of the zone. The Canadiens were doing that to the Rangers tonight.

Dallas 5 Tampa Bay 3 NOPE
Stamkos. Spezza. Janmark. Some really pretty goals in this one. (more later)

Buffalo 2 Florida 3 YES
Barkov and Jagr. Sweet pass, sweet Jagr finish. (more later)

St. Louis 4 Edmonton 2 YES
Edmonton is a fun team to watch because no team will ever be out of the game against them. They have talent - that goal by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was a rare beauty - just so quickly done. But they will have to get a 4 goal lead in the third in order to truly feel safe. St. Louis is as solid as ever. Many lines can sting you. Lehtera's rebound goal off of a nicely handled 3-on-3 rush was special.

Minnesota 4 Arizona 3 YES
Arizona came off a battle last night. Maybe they came out flat as a result. The kids (DuClair and Domi) are pushing play. Arizona finally started pushing play. It was an impressive comeback attempt but fell short. When these teams work hard, their speed is very obvious. I enjoy them both.

3 - 5 tonight.
