This is on the powerplay for the Canes. Puck movement pulled the defense out/up, so when Staal received the puck Faulk had already started his rush to the net. Staal almost blindly passed that puck - sweet, soft pass through - and Howard (goalie) could only watch. Best seat in the house, i guess.
