Games Tonight: October 17th

If i have time i will update all of this. :)
Preliminary picks...

Detroit at Montreal
I feel like, until Montreal shows me they aren't a machine, i have to believe they will win. That said, Detroit is a good team and they are efficient with the puck - they don't need a lot of chances to get a few goals.
Montreal

Nashville at Ottawa
Nashville is not swiss cheese-like, but they do have SOME holes. Not a lot of depth at forward scoring. Ottawa probably has more depth but no top-tier talent at forward. Karlsson on defense is kinda masterful, though.
Nashville

Buffalo at Tampa Bay
Kids vs Almost Champs. Should be a fun game. Buffalo plays their system, they just have to grow-up. Tampa lost Hedman and that is BIG. Good warm-up to see if they have depth at D. Also to see how they adjust without Hedman, who could do it all.
Tampa Bay

Dallas at Florida
This is a toss-up. I think Florida is showing more consistent depth at forward and D. Dallas's top line and the Spezza line can explode, but other than that, Florida is the more solid team.
Florida

Toronto at Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh had a really solid showing against Ottawa Thursday night. If they have found a groove and Malkin and/or Crosby get going, it could be a long night for Toronto. Toronto seems to give up a lot of chances - so unless they tighten it down on their end, they lose.
Pittsburgh

Carolina at Washington
Carolina has been playing winning hockey so far this season just not getting the puck in the net - wait, so they aren't REALLY playing winning hockey. Last night the puck started going in for them - maybe it will tonight, too. Washington has a lot of weapons and the defense has impressed me this year. I hope the Canes can do it...it'd be nice to put together some wins - wins now add up to make that late season playoff push a little easier. (maybe i am being too hopeful)
Washington

San Jose at New York Islanders
I don't have a good read on the Isles. I love Tavares. And they have some talent around him. I don't know their defense well but the last game, they looked solid enough. Boychuk can have good impact. San Jose has a lot of depth at forward. Marleau almost always starts hot and this season is still starting. Pavelski can be such a sniper at times. Still, i am going with Tavares.
New York Islanders

Columbus at Chicago
Columbus is the opposite of Montreal right now. Until they show signs they are playing 60 minutes of system hockey - focused and working, i can't see them winning much. The talent is there - but nothing comes easy. Chicago seems to be as good as ever but just not adjusted to the loss of some key role-players from last season. Who doesn't love Jonathan Toews and Duncan Keith!? Say what!? Then you don't love hockey.
Chicago

Edmonton at Calgary
Edmonton is due. Calgary is not playing great hockey. This is either team's game. But i think Calgary will have the fire - but that is like one of those Horoscope feelings or something you hear from the fortune teller - not worth much. Taylor Hall and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have shown moments of brilliance. When they do, it is fun to see.
Calgary

Boston at Arizona
Boston is barely NHL calibre right now. Ok that is harsh, but they are not stacked well at the moment. Arizona is playing very solid tight Dave Tippett hockey. Coming off the loss to Minnesota, i think this group will be hard to stop - unless this far has been only a dream.
