Games Tonight: October 25th

Minnesota at Winnipeg
Minnesota hasn't turned the corner. That's what it looks like when I watch them - they are close. They churn three and four lines. All of them are not easy to play against. They have good defensive depth. The goaltending is fine. And really, they have a group that if it gets HOT, they could probably win any 7 game series. But they are missing something. Winnipeg is in a similar spot, however, just a guy like Byfuglien could be the difference. This game is a toss-up.

Calgary at New York Rangers
The Rangers play a consistent style. Teams seem to beat them on good transition. The Rangers should be able to control that against Calgary. Calgary can generate action from the defense. I love Mark Giordano - he is underrated, maybe...maybe more just not known as well. Easily a number one d-man on almost every team. If Calgary can get in front of Lundquist and beat the Rangers in their zone to rebounds and loose pucks, they can eke out a win. If the Rangers can finish more of their shots than usual, they should win easily.

Los Angeles at Edmonton
Los Angeles seems to be on their game now. They have it in them to not score but I think they are playing their defense-first style on that top level that got them to the Cup in recent years. Edmonton is improving. McDavid is adjusting quickly to the bigger, faster game. I like Edmonton and this game will be interesting to see where Edmonton is. I believe the Kings are almost complete - the only weakness may be defensive depth. But if Lucic is a noticeable force and the rest of the Kings are playing Darryl Sutter style hockey, this team is the team to beat.
