Who of the night: October 21st

I'm switching this up - instead of looking at the past night's game, I will look forward to the tonight's games. I think that makes more sense for me and you.

James Van Riemsdyk 26yrs LW TOR-21 Scorer. He has nice hands and a nice shot. With Toronto, he has seen moments of greatness - but the team has never been consistent enough to see how good he might be.

Evander Kane 24yrs LW BUF-9 Since having a 30 goal year a few years ago, he has been hampered by injuries. He plays a physical game and has a scoring touch. If he stays healthy, he can be a crucial piece in Buffalo's building a playoff team.

Sean Couturier 22yrs C PHI-14 This guy is tough and can score. When he is on a line with Simmonds, they are quite chippy and create opportunities off the forecheck. A physical force.

Loui Eriksson 30yrs RW BOS-21 One of the best shootout performers in the league. He has a good scoring touch. I wonder if he will be traded at the deadline this year.

Tomas Tatar 24yrs LW DET-21 Another one of Detroit's sneaky picks. He contributes on both ends of the ice. He is a good skater and has a good shot.

Nail Yakupov 22yrs RW EDM-10 He was highly touted and as of yet has not lived up. He has really good hands and can skate well. To be seen if he will be part of Edmonton's turnaround or just another "could have been"

Jeff Skinner 23yrs LW CAR-53 He is a great skater and his shot is quite deceptive. He can go games with being seen and he can put together multi-game scoring streaks as well. All-star during his rookie season.

Alex Tanguay 35yrs LW COL-40 This guy has been around a long time. He proved quickly that his hands were special. Good playmaking ability and a nose for the puck near the goal. Hew won the cup in 2001 with Colorado
