Games Tonight: October 21st

24 Toronto at 26 Buffalo
Toronto. Hmmm, I haven't watched a lot of them. The last couple of games, it seems they have improved. If so, and they are continuing to grow into Babcock's system, Buffalo should not have a lot of chance. Still, anything can happen. I like Buffalo's youth, Eichel, Reinhart and Girgensons.
Toronto

17 Philadelphia at 18 Boston
Philly played a really good game against Dallas and it could have gone either way. Voracek and Giroux controlled the puck a bit but didn't finish. If they play the same against Boston - they win easy. Boston is a team I can't really watch. There is nothing there that interests me. So I might watch  this one and I will have more to say. Chara is old. I love Patrice Bergeron, but also getting old. Boston is rebuilding. Go Flyers, for Boston's sake, too.
Philadelphia

14 Detroit at 22 Edmonton
Detroit is efficient. They aren't dominant as they were but they have a few different players that used appropriately just score. Gustav Nyquist, Tomas Tatar, Justin Abdelkader. And Henrik Zetterberg knows how to use them. His outlet pass to Nyquist the other night was just awesome. Edmonton is coming around. They need to come around more, I believe. Can they steal this one, sure. They may even out-chance the Red Wings here. But it will take some very tight defense - they must take Zetterberg's space away. This will be a fun game to watch.
Detroit

28 Carolina at 23 Colorado
Carolina will be the best team to not make the playoffs, I think. Maybe after deadline trades, that won't be true - but right now it is. Maybe they don't have depth of talent? I think Eric Staal has been playing well and that is the key to this team having a chance. Their defense is spotty but at times very good in their zone. Offensively, the defense holds the zone well and the Canes get a lot of shots. They just don't finish. Colorado. Is Roy the next coach to go? Seems their talent is not achieving what was thought they could. Colorado can win this - they are still one of the fastest teams in the league. Francois Beauchemin is solid on both ends of the ice. Rantanen-Duchesne-Iglina are producing way less than they give up. Can Carolina exploit this? I think so
