NASCAR: the Chase edition

I watched the race yesterday. I have to say I am pleased with the bizarre luck on how the day went.

Joey Logano getting that tire issue early and the amount of damage it did to his car. A flat tire, no contact with other drivers or the wall. Out like 40+ laps or something in order to repair the car. The poetic beauty is - he now knows how Matt Kenseth felt going into the final race of the last leg. Everything will have to be perfect for Logano to make it to the final race.

What's up with Texas Motor Speedway? Is it something about the track that causes tires to go down? Kevin Harvick had tire issues twice and still was able to battle back to 3rd spot after going a lap down. I like Harvick. He has won at Phoenix International Raceway a lot in the past. That's why he is the favorite to win it this coming weekend.

Jimmy Johnson passing Brad Keselowski to win the race was huge. If Keselowski had won, he got the second spot in the final 4. As a result Keselowski is on the outside looking in - basically needing a victory on Sunday to advance to the final 4.

The three most likely to make it with Jeff Gordon are Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. But almost anything can happen.

I love this sort of racing.
