Reviews: November 3rd

How'd I do - umm "Not too good, really".
No big deal, a lot of those were close. Some I just called very wrong. (NJD v NYI) Others I was just too hopeful (TBL v DET)

Dallas 5 Boston YES
Dallas's first three were basically unseen by Rask. Three from Seguin were just beauties. Krecji and Bergeron made beautiful touches to set up Boston's first goal. Another game that is a great example of "Not all shots are equal". Rask's save percentage: .737, Lehtonen .923 - Rask BLEW it. No. No goalie makes saves on those goals by Dallas.
Best Commentary: "Rinaldo bangs Oduya."
Dallas 6/4

New Jersey 1 New York Islanders 2 NOPE
New Jersey's goalie, Corey Schneider, has impressed me. He plays simple solid positional goaltending. He makes some reflex saves but really he just keeps it simple and it is working. The defense does their part mostly as well. A good system they have going in Devils' land. The Islanders played well and maybe this time without Tavares will help them grow into a better team. Good win here for the Isles.
New Jersey 6/4

Washington 2 New York Rangers 5 NOPE
Another instance where the goalie facing less shots actually faced a lot of better shots. - All shots are not equal. I still like the effort by Washington. Ovechkin is working hard out there, that alone makes a difference. But he isn't alone. The Caps' defense is real. I am pleased with the way Rangers made creative plays and took advantage of every opportunity. Usually the Rangers take a lot of weaker shots. Tonight, it was all nice plays or nice shots (Kevin Hayes and Kevin Klein).
Washington 6/4

Ottawa 2 Montreal 1 NOPE
Montreal playing their backup goalie Mike Condon was not the problem. Both teams kept it tight in front - few rebound shots were had by either team. Some big plays were made by each team and some simple missed opportunities. This is one of those games. Evenly played - although Montreal probably controlled play more. Ottawa did a great job keeping Montreal from getting clean shots in the middle.
Montreal 7/3

Tampa BayDetroit 2 NOPE
Good ole Tampa Bay. They are starting to be the team that makes goalies look good. Not sure what it is - but they are not putting the puck in the net. They put it ON net, just not in. They've got to be asking what is wrong. Detroit is just plugging along and playing good hockey. Winning games they shouldn't and not losing many they should have won.
Tampa Bay 7/3

Los Angeles 3 St. Louis 0 --
Tossup 5/5

Calgary 3 Colorado 3 --

Philadelphia 2 Edmonton 4 YES
