Seven Days: Edmonton Oilers (Pacific - 7th)

Edmonton Oiler fans may want more - they have been waiting years, but they should still be pleased with the growth in this season alone. I am hopeful, I like this group.

Offense:
I love this young group. But it is time to play both ends effectively. Taylor Hall has grown into a solid top liner and leader.

Defense:
Darnell Nurse has been playing hard minutes. I like his game so far.
Eric Gryba had a solid week.
Oscar Klefbom is putting up points.
The team as a whole just isn't covering well in their zone. Maybe other teams are transition well against them, too.

Goalies:
Funny how the Oilers have been trying to find that special goalie. Cam Talbot is in a tough spot but playing decently. Anders Nilsson had a solid showing against Anaheim. Both are good goalies just not given opportunities to win.

Next Seven:
Wednesday Chicago visits
Friday New Jersey visits

Not so crazy that they enter this seven days one point behind Calgary for bottom in the Pacific Division and they play the same teams this week. Edmonton without Connor McDavid can still be tough to play against. This is no easy week even though they will be rested.

Last Seven:
Win 4 - 3 OT at Anaheim
Loss 1 - 4 at Arizona
Loss 3 - 4 at Los Angeles

After a good win against the Ducks, they had trouble with two hotter teams. Edmonton is young and missing quite the player in Connor McDavid.

Injuries:
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins might be experiencing an illness but I think he'll be ready for Wednesday's game.

seven days Nov. 9th - 15th
