Seven Days: Ottawa (Atlantic - 2nd)

Ottawa, in my view, hasn't found their new style of play under head coach Dave Cameron. Still a swift skating team, the transition game is keyed by Erik Karlsson. They've looked good at times and bad at others, like this last seven days.

Offense:
Erik Karlsson is Ottawa's best player for offense, too. (read below to understand) Bobby Ryan and Mike Hoffman have had the hot hands. Ryan is a good player and may be maturing into the talent he naturally has.

Defense:
Erik Karlsson is Ottawa's best player on defense every week. He covers so much ice and so well.

Goalies:
Craig Anderson's .911 save percentage is a surprise but the Ottawa style can leave him hanging. Andrew Hammond will get a chance once he gets healthy.

Next Seven:
Thursday Columbus visits
Saturday Philadelphia visits

Columbus is playing well, but Ottawa needs to get the wins here. Philly is unpredictable.

3pts

Last Seven:
Loss 5 - 7 at Nashville
Win 3 - 2  Vancouver
Loss 1 - 2 (SO) New York Rangers
Loss 3 - 4 (OT) at Detroit

Letting in 7 to Nashville, ouch. Getting points in the other three games kept things from feeling disastrous. It was a good game against New York - good skating both ways.

Injuries:
Some dings on Kyle Turris, Jared Cowan, and Andrew Hammond. All are not bad off. Turris is needed.

seven days Nov. 10th - 16th
